Your financial data never leaves your device. MoneyTally stores all expense records, balances, and settings exclusively on your device's local storage. The developer has no access to this data and does not collect it.

This policy explains what data is collected by third-party services embedded in the app (specifically Google AdMob), your rights, and how to exercise them.

2. What Data MoneyTally Collects

Data you create in the app

Expense entries, income records, installment plans, recurring items, monthly balances, and app settings (such as fee configurations) are stored only on your device using Android's application documents directory. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party by the app itself.

3. Third-Party Advertising — Google AdMob

MoneyTally displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). AdMob may collect and process the following data to serve and measure ads:

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the legal basis for processing personal data by Google AdMob when you use MoneyTally is:

MoneyTally itself does not process any personal data and therefore does not require a separate legal basis as a data controller for the app's core functionality.

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR (EU / EEA / UK)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. Since we do not collect personal data, these rights apply primarily to data held by Google. You may exercise these rights directly with Google via their privacy dashboard at myaccount.google.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Under CCPA (California, USA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. MoneyTally does not sell personal information. We do not share your financial data with any party. For data collected by Google AdMob, please refer to Google's CCPA page.

Under LGPD (Brazil)

Residents of Brazil have the right to confirmation of data processing, access to data, correction of incomplete or inaccurate data, anonymization or deletion of unnecessary data, and information about third parties with whom data is shared. Since MoneyTally does not transmit your financial data, these rights are not applicable to us as a controller. For Google AdMob data, please refer to Google's privacy tools.

6. Data Retention

All financial data you enter is retained on your device until you delete it within the app, or until you uninstall the app. Uninstalling MoneyTally removes all locally stored data permanently.

Ad-related data retained by Google AdMob is governed by Google's own retention policies.

7. Data Security

Since your financial data is stored locally and never transmitted, there is no network transmission risk for this data. We recommend keeping your device secured with a screen lock and keeping your Android OS up to date.

8. Children's Privacy

MoneyTally is not directed at children under 13 years of age (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users.
